Pastor Dan grew up on a farm in the Catskills and graduated from High School in a class of 30 Seniors. He has a BS Degree in Biology from Roberts Wesleyan College, a Masters of Divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and has completed all of the course work for a Dr. of Divinity degree from Northeastern Seminary. Pastor Finch is creative and energetic and has a wonderful relationship with Our Lord. He loves Scripture. Pastor Dan’s vision for the church and community is to bring us into a relationship with Jesus and each other by developing small groups where worship, fellowship, service, outreach and discipleship (growing in scripture and faith) are fostered and where community issues are faced and individuals and families supported. Pastor Finch has served the Allens Hill and Canadice UMCs ( 3 years), the Genesee Valley UMC and Chaplin at RIT (5 years), the Grace UMC (3 years), the Bergen UMC (19 years) and the Livonia UMC (10 years) and is presently “retired.” Pastor Finch enjoys working with young people and has not only lead youth groups, but also taught teen Sunday School classes, established “Kid’’s Clubs for children, and been involved with Vacation Bible School programs in his churches. Pastor Finch has been very involved with Prison Ministry, especially in the past 15 years. He has assisted folks who are re-entering society after being incarcerated by supporting them with needs like transportation and finding places to live and work. He is a member of Prison Fellowship, a nationwide agency for prison ministry.
